What does a book map physically look like? Is it on a computer or real paper? Is there a website you recommend that shows you what a book map looks like?

FYI – there’s a bit of a weird echo on the audio.

Hi! Every so often Heidi sounds garbled. Is that just me?
What do you do if your book map clearly has a gap, but you’re not sure how to fix it?

The idea of doing such a big spreadsheet seems really overwhelming, especially for a solo project. Do you have any tips for breaking down a story so much on your own?

Your audio was garbled when you talked about mapping picture books. Can you repeat that?

I have used spreadsheets (not consistently though). Do most authors track “off camera” action too. That is, what secondary characters/villains are doing/where they are when not with the MC?

Thank you so much! I learned so much in such a short time. I’m trying to map out my YA historical novel but even that is a trial and error event.
Wow! This has really helped me understand how to make this tool more useful and what it can do for me. I also am inspired by your thoughts about creativity and the revision process! So glad I watched this!!

Do you have any tips for taking a “vanilla” book map and making revisions so that it’s more interesting?
What are editors and publishers looking for most in PB’s?
Thank you so much! That was such a great workshop, and I’m so excited to dive into my next project with book mapping in mind!
