Kalena Miller grew up in College Station, TX with her mom, dad, and the most photographed hamster in history. After high school, she escaped the Texas heat for Minnesota, where she received a BA from Carleton College and an MFA from Hamline University. Kalena currently lives in Hopkins, Minnesota with her husband and lovable, if slightly neurotic, dog. She writes middle grade and young adult fiction and co-authors narrative nonfiction with her mom, Kathy Miller. She loves books that make her laugh and make her cry, preferably at the same time, and she firmly believes all quality novels should feature a cat. In addition to writing books for young readers, Kalena teaches writing classes, does freelance editorial work, and runs an Etsy shop where she sells decorated sugar cookies. Her debut YA novel, The Night When No One Had Sex, will be published in Fall 2021.
