Street magic performer. Hog-calling champion. Award-winning ice sculptor. These are all things Tara Lazar has never been. Instead, she writes quirky, humorous picture books where anything is possible!
Her picture book 7 Ate 9 won the 2018 Irma S. Black Award and the SCBWI Crystal Kite. She’s the author of Little Red Gliding Hood, The Monstore, The Upper Case and more. Her newest book Bloop, illustrated by Mike Boldt, releases this summer!
Tara hosts the annual Storystorm picture book challenge on her blog at TaraLazar.com and Co-Chairs the Rutgers University Council on Children’s Literature conference.
Tara lives in New Jersey with her husband, two daughters, and a stuffed purple orangutan named Normal Norman.
