I am a married mother of 2 young boys and am currently in the midst of 2 YA fantasy/romance novels – one about pirates, the other a Little Red Riding Hood retelling. I’m looking for someone longterm who I can trade advice, critiques, and general support with!
I work at my local library and I run the writers workshop there. I also founded the River Raisin Review, my system’s first literary journal! I am busy, but I need to make more time for my own projects. I’m at the point where I need someone new to look at my work…plus I am in dire need of a YA writing buddy.
I love romance! Seriously, anything with romantic tension gets my full attention. And anything with a great fantasy plot that includes, but is not limited to, dragons, witches, and magic of any kind.
I am also particularly drawn to first person point of view and anything involving nature.
Favorite authors: JR Ward, Holly Black, Sara J. Maas, Kendare Blake
No homophobia or racism. I also hate reading books where women tear other women down (example: women shaming other women on their appearance).
Not a huge fan of thrillers/murder mysteries without a fantastical element.

[UNTITLED] Little Red Riding Hood re-telling (upper YA): 3/4 the way done, involves a strong-willed girl medic, a werewolf infestation, a weak king, and a sassy animated skeleton!
UNDER CONTROL (Chick lit/comedy-romance, NA): 3/4 done with first draft, about a woman in her 20s who moves home and has to deal with weight gain, a directionless life, and a (maybe) budding romance.
Here are some best practices for reaching out to a potential CP:
- Include the link to your own CP Match profile! You can find it on your Dashboard. Don't have one yet? What are you waiting for? Anyone with a WriteOnCon.org account can make one!
- Introduce yourself a little, and say what appealed to you about their listing.
- Respect what's listed here in their profile. They took the time to fill it out, and they've included this information for a reason. Don't send a message about a book they specifically say is a Hard No, for example.
- Offer to swap a small sample of your works, so you can see if you're really compatible. First chapters are a good starting place.
- If one party no longer wants to continue the interaction, it's nobody's fault. Sometimes finding the right CP takes time.
Happy writing and CPing!
