Awesome conversation — even though I’m one Sci-Fi nerd who never got into Star Wars. I don’t think the characters have much beyond a surface depth. As you stated early on about giving specific characteristics that make a character stand out, I find that Star Wars characters are the embodiment of that one thing. Lando = rogue. Yoda = wise, weird talker. C3PO = talkative whiner. Over time, with multiple writers jumping into that far away universe it’s obviously gotten more detailed and complicated, but wouldn’t anything with that much effort?

Anyway, I just came to realize I have one of those ‘I was going to do something with him, but forgot all about him’ characters that’s introduced in a scene and never heard from again.
