This slow writer thanks you profusely for your reminder that there are more forms of progress than simple word count!

Wow. This blog spoke to me. That’s a cliche thing to say, but it’s true. I’ve been working on a novel for five years. And I’m slow. BUT I write every day (and have for 446 days). Thank you so much for this blog post. I feel seen.

Really enjoyed this. It’s so easy to feel like you are failing if it takes a while to get something written. Glad to be reminded that isn’t the case. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes on your book coming out.

I echo the thanks that others have already expressed! When I saw the title of this blog, I was like, oh my goodness, THIS is for me. I am a Very. Slow. Writer. I’ve put writing on hold for months at a time for several life changes recently. Counting words doesn’t help me. I often lose momentum. It’s easy for me to feel like a failure, like I’m not really a writer. But this blog, and the comments from others, remind me that this is not true, and that I’m not alone in being Slow. Thank you!
