Hey Natascha! On twitter, it feels like there is a delicate line between showing someone you enjoy what they say by liking their tweets, and going overboard and liking too much! Any advice?
Question for Ms. Morris – I see that you’ve listed Pinterest as your social media link. How important is it to have a Pinterest account? Thank you!

Hello Natascha! Thank you so much for taking the time for this. My question centers on editing. When it comes to getting your MS ready to query, when do you think is a good place to stop editing and send it? I’m currently working on a YA mystery, and I will edit this book till the end of time.

I have seen so many people that seem to spend multiple hours per day working on sharing posts, tweeting, etc. with other writers. I’d rather spend that time writing or drawing. What is the minimum social media presence needed in today’s market?

Hi, Natascha! I don’t know if you can see this while you’re presenting, but we can’t see anything you’re showing except for your title page of the slide deck. The audio works great, though!

If we write Middle Grade and PBs, and we do NOT advocate for getting children onto social media, are publishing houses open to investing in out of the box, creative ideas that will still reach those kids, while using social media to only target the adults who do the buying? If houses want you to push social media to children, and you don’t think it’s an ok practice, will they work towards finding other ways? Will they be unhappy with you?
It can be hard to balance social media networking with writing itself. How much social media engagement is a good amount? For instance, if Twitter is my main platform, how often should I be tweeting to be considered active and engaged?

(Please pardon/ignore if this is a marketing-only discussion.) My question is:
Do you think publishers in the MG space would be open these days to print-only deals for successful indie series? I know the Big 5 won’t do them anymore for adult fiction, but was wondering about kidlit.
Is there a cheat sheet for all of these #’s that can help us newbies?
