What should writers do if they get quick responses initially, but then their agent gets much less responsive once they’re signed?

Is it reasonable to send in a “What’s the status of my query submission to you, dear agent?”, and if so, when?

I’ll be meeting an agent at a conference later this year who never got back to me after requesting a partial, even after a couple nudges. I worked with her assistant, not her directly. Is this something I should mention? How do I do it without sounding accusatory?

Can you please explain nudge. How long should we wait to nudge and what is the proper way to do it?

Are there times when it is fair for the writer to use the wait time when factoring in how they feel about a yes from an editor or agent?

How many rounds of submission to editors do you usually go through before you and your client discuss shelving a book? Is there ever a time when you would pick those projects back up and submit again?

Do you have many clients whose book you loved, but you were never able to sell it to a publisher? Does that happen often?

How long is a reasonable time to wait after querying to possibly nudge an agent? 4 weeks? 6 weeks? etc.
How important(scale 1-10) is it to have a social media site. Is it a deal breaker if you don’t have one?

If an agent has had your full (or partial) for a long time and you’ve done significant revisions in the meantime, should you email to see if they want the revised version? If so, when?

When you shop a manuscript, do you always make sure to put a name to the editor? Have you ever subbed an MS to “Dear Editor” without knowing the editor’s name?
Thanks for answering my question. Very helpful for me in the query trenches! 🙂

Can authors pitch multiple novels in different genres to an agent? or should they stick to one novel/one genre? Also, can an agent sell both Adult and MG (and if not can the author sign with a second agent that reps the other genre their agent doesn’t rep?)

How long should you wait to send a query to another agent at an agency if you haven’t heard back from the initial agent within their response time frame? Should you send them a nudge on a query?

If you receive a rejection from an agent can you send them the same manuscript but a revised version of it at a later date?

When a writer submits to multiple agents for representation…should they adapt their “text” in the body of the letter to fit specifically that agent using key words and info found from research on that agent. Should it be specific to that agent? Or just a “form letter” with a individual opening.

My writer group has had mixed responses regarding ABLA’s one-and-done querying policy. The website says to only query one agent at the agency with the project. One agent has said writers can requery that project after six months with significant revisions. A rejection I recently received from a different agent wished me luck whether it was with a different agency or another agent at ABLA. With a different project? With the same project after six months and significant revisions?

Several agents say if you don’t hear back on a query, then it’s a no. How long should I wait before querying another agent?
Any tips for how to handle stress/nerves while waiting to hear back from an agent/editor?
Has the industry been hit hard by the pandemic? Should we have special or different expectations right now?
What’s the longest you’ve ever waited before hearing a ‘yes’ from an editor?
What are your thoughts on R&Rs? Is it reasonable for an agent to ask you not to query anyone else while you work on the R&R for them?
Piggybacking on this: What’s the correct etiquette if you do R&R with one agent but end up wanting to sign with a different agent?
Can you walk us through your average day as an agent? What are some of the things that take up most of your time?
