There’s so much pressure from agents and editors to have something that “stands out” and “feels different,” but how can you work on a new project with that kind of pressure in mind?

How much pressure do you feel to “stay in genre” with the next book you’re working on? Does that help or hinder your ideas and motivation?
How do you not lose track of project A after starting the sequel? I’m already planning my sequel and I’m not even done with the first round of editing for book one!

I’ve read that it is good to work on a completely unrelated project rather than write the next book in a series while you are trying to find a publisher for the first book. Is that true? Would be better to work on something totally different than a sequel?
Many writers tend to prefer working on one project at a time. Is it possible to juggle multiple projects at once, or is it better to work on one thing and get it done before playing with a second novel?

I’d say it’s a safer approach, Tessa, yes! Because so much can change in your series after they edit your first book. 🙂
This is so off topic but I love your accent.
Oh, thank you so much, Elizabeth! I don’t think I’ve ever been told this before!! <3
How do you write so quickly? Teach me your ways!
