Thank you, Patricia and Natalie! It was so amazing to get a glimpse into first reactions to queries from an agent perspective! I’m a little bummed you guys didn’t get to mine, especially since the plot revolves around MURDER, lol! But maybe next time. 😉

Just wanted to say that I found this pitch session extremely useful and entertaining. How cool to get insight into the industry and learn how agents filter through queries. I could tell that you both have passion for books and knowledge of the industry. Thank you so much.

I liked the idea of Blue. After the agents’ comments, I wondered if just nudging the framework would work, e.g., making it about seeing from another group’s point of view. All her life, this mermaid has seen the world in glorious shades of blue and wondered what the heck these fish were talking about when they’d mention other (surely lesser) colors. Then one day she found a flashlight and, voila… (Although I guess they would still be different colors than sea creatures see. I didn’t see the documentary. 🙂 )
Very informative session. Thanks!

Thank you to the Write On Con team for getting agent perspectives’ and organizing this event. Unfortunately, they actually misread several parts of various pitches and therefore their comments didn’t make sense. I also felt they could have communicated feedback in a more constructive way. I do understand that this is just showing a snippet of their personalities and thought process when it comes to their inboxes, and they are entitled to their own opinions. However, I would love to hear from other agents next year.
