Redemption Instructions
This page explains how to redeem your Campaign 2020 services. First, thank you so much for purchasing! Your purchase helps pay for website costs, speaker honoraria, staff wages, and more. We couldn’t host WriteOnCon without your contribution!
In previous years these transactions were handled over email, which wasn’t ideal. Our new system allows for shared records, and easy tracking of submissions and fulfillment.
If you have any questions or need help with a transaction, contact us at [email protected].
What Happens When You Place Your Order
- You’ll get an email confirming your order.
- You’ll get an email confirming your payment.
Open Email #1 and find your order number. You’ll need it for the next step.

Here, the order number is #12743
How to Redeem Your Order
In brief: Send a message to the vendor(s) your ordered from using our Inquiry system. These directions assume the sending of material, but you’ll use the same system for arranging calls and red pencil sessions.
- Find the vendor storefront for each vendor. You can search our list of vendors for the offering agent, author, or editor you purchased from. You’ll have to message each vendor separately.
- Locate and click on the blue Inquiry button to send a message.
- Send a message introducing yourself, naming the service(s) you purchased, and your order number. Be sure to hit Submit. Sample text:
Hi! Thanks for offering your services this year. My name is [NAME]. I purchased [NAME OF SERVICE] on [DATE]. [When you plan to send materials, and any questions you may have.] My order number is #NNNNN. Thanks very much!
- Visit your My Account page. In the site’s main menu, hover over Login and click on My Account.
- In My Account, click on the Inquiries tab located on the left.
- Find your inquiry in the list. This is where you can find all your inquiries, read replies, and make replies. IMPORTANT: Do not send your submission until your message is acknowledged. The vendor must confirm that you’ve messaged the right vendor.
- Wait for the vendor to reply. When the vendor replies with approval, then you can submit your materials. You will get an email notification of all replies.
- Reply to the vendor with your submission materials. Navigate to My Account and the Inquiries tab, locate the relevant inquiry, and scroll down to the bottom of the thread. Enter a message, and upload your file (accepted file types: jpg|jpeg|jpe, gif, png, pdf, doc, docx). Hit Send.
- Wait for the vendor to reply with their feedback. We recommend vendors reiterate when they are likely to be able to return materials. See General Guidelines below for more information about the expected timelines.
- Thank the vendor for their feedback. This ends your interaction with the vendor. They will mark the order Complete.
General Guidelines
Timeline For Submission
Where a vendor has indicated a due date for submissions (ie., December 2019 only) their due date will override the campaign submission window. Absent a stated deadline, the final day to submit your materials is February 28, 2020. Any buyers who don’t submit by February 28 will be refunded. We will refund only the vendor’s fees for the critique; we will retain the portion that covers WriteOnCon’s fees and your bundled admission ticket will remain valid.
Timeline for Returned Materials
Our vendors are very busy, and though they will make their best effort to return materials promptly as indicated on the listings, sometimes life intervenes. We ask that you please be patient if a vendor overruns their original estimated turnaround time. If you are concerned that your messages are not being returned in a timely fashion (keeping in mind that the vendors are often busy), please reach out to us at f[email protected].
The deadline for vendors to return materials is March 22, 2020. If you do not receive your materials by this date, and you haven’t made other arrangements with the vendor and/or WriteOnCon already, contact us at f[email protected] and our campaign coordinator will follow up. In this case you may be assigned to a new critiquer, and/or you may be refunded.
Respectful Behavior
- We expect vendors and buyers to behave in a manner concordant with the WriteOnCon Harassment and Accessibility Policies.
- Remember that all messages are recorded in our system. WriteOnCon reserves the right to monitor these exchanges to ensure they adhere to the Harassment and Accessibility Policies.
- Your purchase entitles you only to the interaction specified in the product description, and not to anything beyond it. Calls are limited in time. A critique involves a single read and feedback, not an ongoing dialogue. An individual vendor may choose to extend the interaction at their discretion. This is a bonus, not a promise. Vendors are in no way obligated to provide anything beyond the scope of what was outlined in the product description.
- No vendor can promise to secure a buyer a publishing contract, an offer of representation, or similar. Though a vendor may formally request a submission package, they are under no obligation to do so and buyers should not expect it.
