Chris Vick
Chris lives near Bath with his wife, daughter and surf-rat-of-a-dog, Toffee. He splits his time between writing, teaching and working in whale and dolphin conservation.
Chris is the author of YA novels, Kook, and Storms. He is published by HarperCollins in UK and the US, by Giunti in Italy and Gottmer Becht in the Netherlands. His books explore the blurred lines between safe and dangerous, tame and un-tamed, urban and wild; the wild space between being young and so-called ‘growing up.’
He is a graduate of the Bath Spa MA in Writing for Young People. As both student and teacher he is fascinated by the nature of stories: what they are, how they are put together and why they are important. These subjects make up the core of his workshops and talks in schools and at literary festivals. He has also appeared on BBC radio 4, and written about YA subjects for newspapers and websites.
