Joy McCullough

Joy McCullough’s debut young adult novel Blood Water Paint won the Washington State Book Award and the Pacific Northwest Award; it also earned honors including the National Book Award longlist, finalist for the ALA Morris Award, and finalist for the Amelia Walden Award. Her middle grade novel A Field Guide to Getting Lost, a Junior Library Guild selection, releases from Atheneum/S&S on April 14th. In 2021, she’ll release both middle grade and YA novels. A graduate of Northwestern University’s theater school, Joy’s plays have been produced in Seattle, Chicago, San Diego, and New York. She lives in the Seattle area with her Guatemalan husband, two homeschooled children, and a very sweet Australian shepherd.
