Pam Halter
“I’m a hybrid author. Traditional and self published picture books. And I have one YA fantasy novel with a small traditional house. I also co-teach a mentoring clinic with illustrator, Kim Sponaugle. Together we give a unique opportunity for PB authors, coming from both the writing AND illustrating aspect.”
Pam Halter was a home-schooling mom for nine years, has been a children’s book author since 1995, and a freelance children’s book editor since 2006. She published two picture books, Beatrice Loses Her Doll and Beatrice’s New Clothes (Concordia, 2001), Willoughby and the Terribly Itchy Itch (Fruitbearer Kids, 2017), Willoughby and the Lumpy Bumpy Cake (Fruitbearer Kids, 2018), and Willoughby Goes A Wee Bit Batty (Fruitbearer Kids, 2019).
Itchy Itch won a Realm Award in the children’s book category at the Realm Makers conference, July 2018, and three Purple Dragonfly Awards (Story Monsters Ink) – 2nd place for best illustrations, honorable mentions for best picture book for ages 5 and under, and best picture book ages 6 and up, June 2019.
