Your Ultimate Guide to: Accessing WriteOnCon 2020
WriteOnCon 2020 is almost here! Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about accessing all of the amazing conference events. You can check our schedule to see the full line-up for 2020.
What Your Admission Gives You Access To
Depending on the level of admission you purchased, you will have access to different types of conference events.
Attendees who have not purchased admission will be able to access only our keynote and showcase events. Keynotes are posted at the opening and close of each conference day — there are six in total. We have selected six of our favorite topics, which we hope will be useful and inspiring to everyone! Showcase events take place at intervals during the day; there are eight of these. They were recorded as public live events in the weeks prior to the conference and the archived video is being shared again with attendees here. Both of these event types can be found on the main WriteOnCon blog or by accessing directly from the schedule. You will still need to log in to leave comments on keynote and showcase events; you can sign up for a free WriteOnCon account here, if you don’t have one.
Purchasers of General Admission will have access to only our prepared events (plus the free keynote and showcase events). These include our blog, live blog, vlog, and podcast events — all 67 of them! Our contributors have created some incredibly helpful and eye-opening posts on topics ranging from writing advice to career-building and the publication process, so there’s lots of great stuff here to help you on your writing journey. These events can be found on the conference page or by accessing directly from the schedule. This admission is good through end of day March 1.
Those who bought Full Admission will have access to all of the above, plus the live events. We have 41 live events lined up over the three days of the conference — one every hour, on the hour! These include Q&A sessions with industry professionals (authors, agents, and editors), pitch sessions, and live workshops. These events will be on the conference page and the live events page (you can catch them on whichever one you fancy), and also direct-linked from the schedule. This admission is good through end of day March 1.
Everyone with Extended Admission will receive exactly the same content as the Full Admission. However, Extended Admission attendees will be able to access content for a full month, until March 22.
And finally, attendees who splurged for Time Traveler Admission will enjoy the same benefits as Extended Admission, plus exclusive access to all archived events from WriteOnCon 2017, 2018 and 2019, on our special time traveler page. Time Travelers can access content until March 22.
The WriteOnCon Critique Forums
Regardless of your admission level, the critique forums are open and free to everyone. You can access the forums from our website, or directly by going here.
The forums will open on February 14 and will be actively moderated through February 24 (though you are welcome to continue using them beyond that date).
For more information on how the forums work, please see our Ultimate Guide to the Forums.
Accessing the Conference
All registrations made through our website are automatically added to our conference registry. You should receive an email containing login and password information. If you have not gotten your login info, please email us.
NOTE: The email address we sent your login info to is the one you used when paying; this may be the email attached to your PayPal account. Please check that email account — including your junk and spam folders — before emailing us. You can change your preferred email address once you log in.
This login is your key to the conference events. You will need to log in using this information in order to access the content that you registered for. If you have forgotten your password, you can use the password reset tool on the login page.
To log in, go here or use the Login link in the navigation menu of our website. Once you have logged in, the website should remember your login for the duration of the conference, as long as you access from the same device each time.
All conference events can be found at the Conference Events link in the navigation bar. You can also access them through direct links in the conference schedule. All events are listed, but you will only be able to access the ones that you bought admission for.
Attendees who bought Time Traveler Admission can access past conferences through our Archive Access. This will only be available during the admission window (February 21 – March 22).
Live events are accessed through our Live Events page or directly from the schedule. Only Full, Extended, and Time Traveler Admission attendees will be able to access the events on this page (though everyone can see a preview of the posts).
Speakers will be taking their questions from the comments left on their event’s page. These comments will be pulled by the moderator; inappropriate content/language will be removed and duplicate questions may be combined. You will need to be logged into your WriteOnCon account to leave a comment on the post.
If you missed a live event while it was live, don’t panic! All live events will be archived for you to catch up on later (you just won’t have the opportunity to interact with our live speaker).
For more detailed information about these events, please see our Ultimate Guide to Live Events.
If you have not yet registered, there’s still time! We will be accepting General and Full Admissions right through March 1, and Extended and Time Traveler Admissions until March 22, which are the days when these respective admissions expire. Registrations made after March 15 will receive a discount.
You can register for WriteOnCon 2020 here.
All conference content — keynotes, blogs and vlogs, podcasts, and archived live events — will remain available right through the admission expiration dates. You can continue to access it using the same login and webpage links as during the conference.
If you came very late to WriteOnCon 2020 and/or wish to extend your access, after March 22 you can view all conference content from the past four years through our Anytime Archive Access, good for an entire month. Register here.
We are incredibly excited about what we have lined up for you during WriteOnCon 2020! We hope that WriteOnCon helps you improve yourself as a writer, and also leads to some wonderful and lasting new friendships.
See you February 21st!
